Next gig:Tuesday 2nd November @APU Cambridge with 13 Senses and Delphi Looks like it could be a sell-out for the 13 Senses gig (above), I would advise anyone wishing to go to book online via the promoter Green Mind at A?6 per ticket in advance. November gigs: 8th Ice Bar, Ipswich // 13th Cafe Afrika, Cambridge // 14th Campbell's Nightclub, Aylesbury. See www.transit.org.uk for details (see zone 5). The last couple of weeks have seen us return to the studio, currently concentrating on the tracks Panic Attack and I Used to be a Monkey, for inclusion on a brand new EP due for release shortly after Christmas. It's hard work, but looking forward to an end result that would make any mackerel proud. Special thanks to Pete and Phil for their ongoing patience... Remember you crazy kids, be your own mackerel... * * * * Setlist Junction 6th October; (For the people, only for the people) // You Follow Me Around // I Used to be a Monkey // Money Machine // Squeeze My Bones // Lucky Nine // Panic Attack // (For the people...) 28th September APU Bar: Debuts for new songs You Follow Me Around and Rigamortis during a support slot with Red Jetson. Delphi have our sympathies for being dropped from the lineup at the last minute, we'll be making up for it on 2nd November with 13 Senses, again at the APU Bar. There is an MP3 of The Lunatics (are taking over the world) at www.cambridgebands.com, recorded a couple of months ago at Purple Studios. TSW t-shirts are now available at a fiver each in all sizes. We would like to say a huge thankyou to all those who made the monumental effort to come and see us in London (Bull & Gate 24th Aug) after the unfortunate last-minute transport difficulties, it is very important to us and we greatly appreciate your continued support. Also, thanks to Meadowman who lent us their equipment (Portland Arms 28th Aug) plus Ollie and James for a cracking party later that night which included the debut of Ian's new side project - The Beards. A busy drummer at the moment is our Ian, having also recently appeared with Honeyspider at the Portland Arms this month. Ah yes, and of course special thanks to DJ Fish for his sax solo during the Bull & Gate gig! Check out some new photos in the gallery click here. Pre-release copies of the new CD are available at A?2 each, including MoneyMachine and The Lunatics (are taking over the world). We're taking a short break until late September to write new material, we'll be at the APU Bar during Fresher's Week so hopefully we'll see you then with a cold pint of gloriously cheap booze... Old News:A bus service will be provided for the return journey to London on the 24th, for a total price of A?10 (this includes admission price and payment for bus) along with a free copy of the newly recorded TSW CD on the night for everyone who buys a ticket from us. Generous, I know, but that's just how nice we are... Buses (2x 16 seaters) will be leaving Cambridge (exact location to be determined) at around 6:30pm, for those not travelling on our buses admission is A?4 on the door with flyer, A?5 without flyer. E-mail us for details and to reserve your place... as seats will disappear quickly! The Mighty Window will be in the studio just prior to this so you can all get hold of your brand spanking new copies of The Lunatics (Are Taking Over the World) and Money Machine, plus maybe even a replacement of Squeeze My Bones if you've worn your copy out. A couple of good gigs recently, at APU Student Bar Sat 31st July (hello to the Italians...) and a Charity Event at the Pear Tree, Bassingbourn which went down a treat, along with a few hundred quids' worth of complimentary beer! God save the CharlieMoore4 (special thanks to Mr Dave Jakes for his guest vocal on Break on Through) BlackNiteCrash and Delphi who made up the sparkling quartet of live bands for the day. And not forgetting our very own Chris who did the sound for the whole afternoon, good lad... Squeeze My Bones is the featured review in the latest edition of The Fuzz fanzine, to be distributed at this years' Carling Festivals at Reading and Leeds. For more details . Look out for TSW playing in Cambridge nearer the end of the month. Right, I'm off to my weekly camel riding lesson...toodlepip...

TSW runners-up in Cambridge Band Competition After getting into the final thanks to an overwhelming audience vote, we managed to come second place in the competition overall. Share your thoughts/comments at www.cambridgebands.com Good to see some familiar faces at the Man on the Moon (2nd April) along with some new ones, a more experimental set from our point of view (including parts of drumkit falling on Andy's head...). We'll be back there for a Strawberry Fair Benefit on 1st May, shortly after an appearance at the Maltings, Ely on 30th April. Meanwhile, TSW will be in Sheffield on 17th April along with hopefully planning the recording of new material. * * * * !TSW in Band Competition Final! Thanks to those who voted, especially those who continually turnout for our gigs, we are very grateful as always. Stage time is 8pm so come early, avoid the rush!!! Junction, Wednesday 10th March (Heat 2 Cambridge Band Competition) So, despite words of wisdom from the one and only R Kelly "...if I believe it, then I can do-ooo it..." TSW failed to progress to the final of the Band Competition. However, we did leave with a crate of lager after winning the beer cheer so not completely empty handed, leave your comments on our forum at www.cambridgebands.com (see below) if you were there. Special thanks to all those who made the effort we appreciate it. Back to the Man on the Moon two days later for a Strawberry Fair benefit on Saturday 1st May. This month has seen the birth of a new website designed to be a central forum for the Cambridge band scene, www.cambridgebands.com. It's an excellent site and hopefully will be very effective in helping promote local music. As for this site there's a new look one in development at present, but for now you'll just have to put up with this cranky old thing I'm afraid!
